The cooking plates of OFYR cooking units slope slightly downward toward the center. When the cooking plates are heated, the center will sink slightly further. As a result, round foods such as tomatoes, as well as very fatty foods, can roll or slide toward the center of the cooking plate and fall into the fire. To prevent this, the OFYR Food Bumper was developed. The raised steel ring keeps the food in place while still allowing you to scrape the plate clean with the spatula and push the scrapings under the ring into the fire.
